Alanis Morissette
Alanis Morissette, a Canadian was born on the 1st of June, 1974, in Ottawa. Alanis' Greek is a female form of Alan's father's surname. Georgia is the full name of her mother. She has two brothers with her, Chad as well as Wade. She began playing the piano and guitar at the age of aged 21. In 1986 Alanis released a single titled Fate Stay With My (b-side: Find The Right Man). In her Canadian career as a dance-pop performer her albums include: Alanis (1991), and now Is The Time (1992). At age 18, she relocated to Toronto where she worked with numerous performers and song writers, but the collaborations didn't work. She finally met her partner in the year 1994: Glen Ballard. He had collaborated with other musicians including Aretha, Michael Jackson, and Barbra. She moved to LA after turning 19. On June 13th 1995 "Jagged Little Pill" was made available via Madonna's Maverick Records. Alanis was able to find an incredibly personal and autobiographical way to write songs. JLP is sold around 30 million copies throughout the world, turning into the best selling female album and the 3rd greatest selling album of all time. JLP's release came after emotions (she had thought of not releasing an album) in addition to taking the trip to Europe.
