Jessica Chastain is an American actor and filmmaker who is known as a strong-willed woman in movies with feminist themes. The actress has been nominated to two Oscars and has been the recipient from one Golden Globe Award. She was born in California in the US and discovered a love in acting after watching the stage play Joseph and the Amazing Tecnhicolor Dreamcoat. Her stage debut with a stage production of "Romeo and Juliet" and her debut in film with her role in the drama film , 'Jolene'. The popularity of her character grew due to her appearances in movies such as 'Take Shelter and 'The Help', 'Mama' and "Interstellar'. The actress won the Golden Globe Award for her part in the film 'Zero Dark Thirty with the nomination of "Best Actress". She is best known for her performance as strong but flawed women and many of her films are renowned as they advocate for feminist ideals. Feminists are vocal, and she is known for her vocal support for equal pay and has also slammed works she felt were offering her an unfair wage. TIME magazine listed her as one of the most influential individuals in the World in 2012.
